1. Cover item with dark color
2. Rub with the candle when dry
3. Paint item with contrast, lighter color
4. Rub sanding paper when dry.
5. Glue the napkin with glue for napkins (or dilueted PVA which I do not recommend)
6. Seal with varnish, when glue is dry.

Decoupage for beginners in Bray

I went to Bray, Co. Wicklow to provide decoupage basic workshop.

As usually it was great fun, but also hard work. 

This time it was big challenge for me as few girls actually are working with napkins. Can I teach them something new? I was afraid that at the end they will tell me: we waste our time, you didin't teach us anything new. At the end I was sure that everyone learn a lot not only from me, but also from each other.

It was really great.

Liz from Down at the Gate organised amazing venue in Community Centre in Bray.

Time ran very fast! In 3 hours I showed few final projects, described material and tool for decoupage and other techniques.

I also showed crackle technique with two step crackle medium.

Each participant decorated one box with the same Shabby Chic effect and napkin technique. As you see each piece is so different - that's all about decoupage.

My family visited See Life Aquarium in Bray and had amazing time. Rest of the weekend we spend with friends.

Now I am on the way home and looking forward to my regular classes in Carrigaline and Cobh.

Beautiful venue of Be Creative Centre is host for decoupage in Carrigaline.

This Thursday we are going to decorate  metal tins. 

We also will finish our beautiful bottles with crackle glaze.

Decoupage Gathering in Scotland in September!

In less than two weeks I am going to visit Monika, designer at Reverie's Vintage Home and owner at Decoupage Supplies UK.

I met Monika online about a year ago, when I was looking for some help and advice about decoupage and decoupage workshops. Since then we are chatting to each other nearly every day and exchanging tips, knowledge but also ups and downs of everyday life.

I hope to have not only great time with her but also to work together on some projects. And also spend some time away from home to understand even better my clients need :) Many of you coming here not only for new skills, but also to spend some time just for yourself. I am right?

I am looking forward to my first trip to Scotland, I hope to boost my energy and get many new ideas!

Decoupage Workshop in North Tipperary - 5th October

On Saturday, 5th October I am going to work with lovely ladies from far, far away.
I've never been before in that part of Ireland so I am looking forward not only to this workshop, but also to this wonderful trip.

As you see - I love not only decoupage, but I love travelling too. If you are living too far from my lovely East Cork to come here for one day, you can always organize workshop near to you.
But if you like to travel - there is a plan for you as well. Watch out this space.

Finally, after two long, very hard and intensive months of HOLIDAYS and after week of SCHOOL I am back to my life again.
It is amazing to have some time for myself.

Even though I love my children I also deserve some time 'free from'. We all deserve :)

What will happen next?

I am well organize already. First of all - I will continue decoupage workshops in Cobh Family Resource Centre. I am missing so much my trainees, so I hope to see you all again in October.

On 2nd October Family Resource Centre in Cobh will held the meeting for 'decoupage anonymous'.
At the same time it will be FREE DEMO for newbies and I will take bookings for 4 weeks workshop for beginners.

On 3rd October in Carrigaline I will start 4 weeks decoupage course for beginners.

Due unpredictable weather in Ireland and after few months of very intensive work I decided to change a bit my training structure.


1. Decoupage Workshop For Beginners.

This workshop is designed for beginners or crafty people who wants to spend some time away from home, kids, work, etc.

Minimum group of 8 maximum 12 people in the group.
Time: 3-3,5 hours 
Cost: 25 euro per person

Decoupage in Shannon, Co. Clare - 17-18.03.2013

I spend two days in Shannon Co. Clare.
First day I spend on Decoupage Party. And we decorated goose egg's shells:

It was great fun for all of us!

When we where alone (me and my friend) we started working on our own projects with glass of wine (my apologize for quality of the pics again):

For sure - you can't guess what we did next day? Yes we decoupaged another egg's shells.

This time we tried to use relief outliner. I was time consuming but result was worth it:

We also tried easy painting technique and different texture:

Because I have my daughter with me she and her friend decorated goose egg's shells too :)

Here picture of their work in progress. They finished work with colored ribbon.

It was great and creative trip. I love to travel so when I can combine my passion, my work and travelling I am the happiest human in the entire world!

Decoupage Demonstration - Midleton, 16.03.2013

Hello everyone!

Great day once again.

I started this day again very early in the morning. My kids are going to Polish School on Saturdays so I had to prepare them first and droped-in. School is in Ringaskiddy so as usually we went by cross-river ferry.Then I went to Midleton to M&K Tailoring Centre

It was a big surprise as two women came very early. Unfortunately I had an accident and spend some time on rescue my wooden box.

When I settled down my table more people started coming. Most of them wanted to try decoupage on the egg's shell. It was a great fun for all of us.
It was very busy for more than 2 hours.

Some people came just to see how we are working - sorry if you did't see much. I never expected so many coming to do the shells.

It was many people from Cork, Cobh, Carrigtwohill, Midleton and Whitegate, male and female, in age from 2 up.

Free Demonstration - Goose Egg's Shell - Midleton

16th March 2013

Once again - all ages, all levels very welcome.
Just pop in any time that will suit you between 10am and 1pm.
M&K Tailoring Centre is next to Farm Gate so if you ask for direction ask for this very popular place. You can't missed it :)

If you want to try decorate the shell you will have a chance to do so for only 5 euro per egg.

Numbers of eggs are limited.

Full workshop about egg's shell decorating is coming next week, 23rd March.

Tea Light Holder From Wine Glass - Tutorial

Welcome to my first photo-tutorial. I want to encourage you to try decoupage at home.

It took me about 30 minutes to transfer wine glass into beautiful and unique tea light holder - lantern.

I will explain what I did step by step:

1. I took wine glass (can be old piece that is no longer in use).

2. I took rice serviette with pattern that I wanted to use, glue for napkin and brush.

3. I tore napkin into the pieces and using the brush I glued them onto the glass (outside only)

4. I used glue on the bottom part of the glass as a primer.

5. When glue was dry I used glue for gilding over the bottom part.

6. After while when glue was clear but still sticky I used gold leaves over the bottom part. 

7. I used shellac over the whole piece to protect it.

8. Then I decided to use relief liner to cover place where napkin met gilding.

What I got as a result:

The Angels - Workshop for Parent & Kids in Cobh

On Saturday 9th March I provided second workshop for parents & kids in Cobh Family Resource Center.

This time parents and kids decorated the angels with paint, gilding and napkin.









It was great fun for all of us. We work very hard for two hours and everyone was very happy with the result.

Next workshop for kids (6-12) will be on Saturday, 20th April. 11am - 1pm.
It will be for kids without the parents :)
